Update to Optical Disc Drives Compatible with Compact Disc (CD) Format
Thanks to significant updates in redumper, the firmware patches from Rib and MoriGM, and thousands of dumps by the community, Redump is updating guidance for disc drives that are compatible for CD dumping!
Please see the updated and revamped wiki page: http://wiki.redump.org/index.php?title= … bility:_CD
On this page, you will see the list of compatible drives split into two sections now:
1) New Dump & Verification Submissions
This section includes drives that can be used for submitting both new discs and verifications to redump.
2) Verification Submissions Only
This section includes drives that can (for now) only be used for submitting verifications. We will continue to test these extensively to see if any will become eligible for new discs.
Please note: All dumps done with the drives recently added to the lists *must* be done with Redumper build 610 or later (MPF 3.3.2 or later). This includes the ASUS drives in the “New Dump” section, as well as all the drives in the “Verifications Only” section. We strongly recommend using redumper build 610 or later for all dumps going forward.
Please consult the compatibility pages on the wiki for the latest list of acceptable drives, and please reach out on the forum or via discord if you have any questions. Thank you!

More PS2 Cheat Disc Support Added to Redumper!
Those pesky black-bottom GameShark 2, Xploder, and the (silver bottom) Code Breakers are among the newly supported/dumpable discs in the latest redumper build https://github.com/superg/redumper/releases
with command --rings --correct-offset-shift
Unlicensed lists here are a work in progress:
USA - http://wiki.redump.org/index.php?title= … ensed_List
Europe - http://wiki.redump.org/index.php?title= … ensed_List
Asia - http://wiki.redump.org/index.php?title= … ensed_List
So far the only kind of PS2 cheat discs that CAN'T be dumped are the ones with physical separator rings (Swap Magic, HD Advance etc).
Notes:
Try using Asus and different models of Plextors if you're hitting c2 errors. Some drives have errors reading while others read fine.

Important Updates to Dumping Tools!
Happy New Year to everyone!
There has been some significant work to update the dumping tools used for Redump.
1. Redumper is now accepted for dumping Xbox and Xbox 360 Discs with Kreon drives, using build 438 or higher.
2. MPF has had a large update and we recommend everyone to use version 3.3.0 or later. You can download the current latest Windows version here, which is bundled with the required version of Redumper and DiscImageCreator:
https://github.com/SabreTools/MPF/relea … elease.zip
There are many updates and changes to MPF 3.3.0, so for this release we recommend that you start with a fresh folder/installation. Please review all the options as some have changed. You can find more release details and the full changelog here:
https://github.com/SabreTools/MPF/releases/tag/3.3.0
As always, thank you for your continued efforts and welcome to 2025!
Redump Milestone - Over 50,000 PC discs!
Hello everyone! As the title indicates, we've just recently passed a pretty significant milestone here at redump, as now we have over 50,000 PC discs in the database!
While the number of PC discs out there seems almost infinite, this is still an incredible accomplishment, and it is due to the immense amount of time, money, and expertise that volunteers have poured into this project and continue to do so.
Thank you to the staff, dumpers, and everyone else who has contributed to this project and helped us to preserve important metadata for so many video game and related discs.
Keep up the great work!
Redumper Submission Updates!
UPDATE 12/07/2023: IBM-PC CD-ROMs (in addition to DVD-ROMs) are currently now SUPPORTED for use with redumper, using redumper build 271 or later.
-----
Exciting news! The Redump mod team has decided to allow for new dumps made with Redumper for certain supported systems! The same rules apply to Redumper as they do with DIC: 2x dumps for new discs for all systems to ensure accuracy.
Please see http://wiki.redump.org/index.php?title=Redumper_status for more details about what systems are currently supported and in what way.
As with DIC, we highly recommend that dumpers use MPF when working with redumper as this greatly simplifies the information gathering and submission process. The latest build of MPF can be found at https://github.com/SabreTools/MPF. For those who are unable to use MPF or find it difficult to do so (e.g. due to compatibility with certain Linux builds), standalone binaries for redumper can be found at https://github.com/superg/redumper. Please follow the guide at http://wiki.redump.org/index.php?title= … umper_CLI) if working with redumper as a standalone tool.
Working with Redumper logs is still a bit new to us, so we appreciate your patience as we get more used to them. Thanks!!
